Itosu Anko photos found
Of interest to those of us who are interested in the historical side of karate is news that a confirmed photograph of the great master Anko ITOSU has been uncovered.
Found by Hanshi Hiroshi KINJO, the teacher of Hanshi Patrick McCarthy, this photo was recently given to the Okinawan Prefectural Library.
Two articles appeared in the Okinawa Times newspaper, including one written by Kinjo Sensei, and these have been translated by Patrick McCarthy Sensei, and his wife Yuriko-san. Along with a copy of the photo, these are available for download at the website of the International Ryukyu Karate Research Society
